Together we will raise crucial funds for America’s Wildlife Refuges\, more than we could ever do alone! \nThe Friends of Arthur R. Marshall Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge are continually raising funds and awareness for our piece of the Northern Everglades. And what a fun\, healthy way to showcase our Refuge at the same time by participating in one of our guided walks. \nFunds raised in the past have been used to help refurbish our Nature Center exhibits\, provide transportation for school field trips\, and host the annual Everglades Days. Upcoming projects include setting up a maintenance fund for our new passenger tram. \nYou can help by donating to our team. 100% of your support will benefit the Friends of ARM Loxahatchee NWR and\, thanks to the support of national donors and the Public Lands Alliance\, a portion of your gift will be matched by the Amplifier Fund. To make a donation\, click on “Donate” above or on the main landing page and allocate our team. \nTo sign up for free click “Register” to join one or both of our 5K challenges to raise awareness for the National Wildlife Refuge System and Team Friends of Arthur R. Marshall Loxahatchee NWR. The first 5K guided walk will be Saturday\, October 7 from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. The second 5K Spooky Walk will take place Friday\, October 13 from 6:30 p.m. – 8 p.m. Costumes are encouraged\, but not required for the Spooky Walk. DESCRIPTION:Jorge Zarruk is a multicultural singer-songwriter\, guitarist\, and music producer. Though he’s been residing and performing in Palm Beach County since 2012 with his band Bruja\, which blended Rock\, Blues and Reggae music as part of its musical formula\, this solo project is more Rock and Blues oriented. It is a more straightforward approach and more influenced by Grunge and Classic Rock. The music has a harder edge and has been produced entirely by Jorge as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic and the lock downs imposed by federal and local governments. While his baritone vocal style can go from breathy to a solid blues growl\, the lyrics are personal\, provocative\, and even political\, as is the case with his first upcoming single titled “I Can’t Breathe”. The song is set to be released on November 6th\, 2020. It is a direct protest to the murder of George Floyd and other black Americans like Breonna Taylor\, Michael Brown\, and Corey Jones\, a local Palm Beach County drummer murdered by police on October of 2015\, to name a few. “I have come to realize that it is my duty as an artist\, to use my talents to bring attention to the racism and inequality epidemic that has plagued North American society for over a century”\, says Jorge of his new single. “While exploring my artistic and musical horizons is something I really enjoy doing\, I realized I can do that\, while at the same time\, incorporating a meaningful and much needed message in my songs.” \nShare this with your friends:Post
